The Prime
Minister, Dr Navinchandra Ramgoolam, attended the State banquet hosted by the
Kenyan President, Dr William Ruto, last evening at State House in Nairobi. The
banquet brought together Heads of State and Government, as well as their
representatives, participating in the inaugural Africa Forward Summit 2026.
Held from 11 to 12 May 2026 under the theme “Africa Forward: Africa–France Partnerships for Innovation and Growth”, the Summit brings together African leaders, French President Emmanuel Macron, international organisations, business leaders and development partners to discuss innovation-driven and sustainable economic growth across the continent.
Discussions are centred on reforming the global financial architecture, renewing the development agenda, advancing the energy transition, promoting green industrialisation, strengthening the blue economy, fostering sustainable agriculture, accelerating AI and digital technologies, improving health systems and enhancing peace and security.
This evening, the Prime Minister will intervene in discussions on the blue economy, one of the key pillars of the Summit’s agenda.
