IMF delegation briefs Prime Minister on 2025 Article IV consultation findings

A delegation led by the Mission Chief from the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Ms Mariana Colacelli, paid a courtesy call on the Prime Minister, Dr Navinchandra Ramgoolam, this afternoon at the New Treasury Building in Port Louis. The Junior Minister of Finance, Mr Dhaneshwar Damry, was also present at the meeting.

In a statement, Ms Colacelli described the discussions as being successful and constructive, as the delegation briefed the Prime Minister on the findings of the 2025 Article IV Consultation. Talks also addressed Mauritius’s economic growth outlook, potential risks linked to ongoing global tensions, and IMF recommendations aimed at maintaining financial stability.

Regarding the forthcoming budget, she emphasised the importance of continued reforms and targeted efforts by the Government to support vulnerable groups while easing their economic challenges.
