Fifth session of Job and Training Fair held at Cascavelle Mall

The fifth session of the Job and Training Fair was organised, today, at Cascavelle Mall, in line with the Government Programme 2025–2029, by the Ministry of Labour and Industrial Relations as part of its mandate to accompany jobseekers through training programmes and job placement initiatives. The event is a single platform for recruitment, career guidance, and skills development.

The Ministry has thus adopted a proactive approach to support the national objectives of reducing unemployment, addressing skills mismatches, and promoting inclusive participation in the labour force—especially for youth, women, and persons with disabilities. During the fair, the Ministry provided information on its employability enhancement programmes, notably the Youth Employment Programme and Women Back to Work Programme. Jobseekers also received guidance from the Careers Guidance Service Unit on future career prospects, re-orientation, and strategies for building sustainable, lifelong careers.

Several employers from different sectors were present too at the Job and Training Fair to showcase their enterprises, promote available vacancies, and connect more efficiently with a pool of potential talent.

Moreover, the fair featured a training component to guide participants towards relevant upskilling and reskilling opportunities. Among the training institutions present were the Mauritius Institute of Training and Development (MITD), the Ecole Hôtelière Sir Gaëtan Duval, the Human Resource Development Council (HRDC), Polytechnics Mauritius and the Academy of Design and Innovation.

Representatives of the National Empowerment Foundation were also present to guide individuals registered on the Social Register of Mauritius (SRM) towards suitable training and employment opportunities.

Previous editions of the Job and Training Fair were organised in Grand Baie, Rose Belle, and Flacq, as well as at the Port Louis Victoria Urban Terminal.
