Russian Ambassador presents Letters of Credence to President Roopun

The Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Mauritius, Mrs Irada Avtandilovna Zeynalova (resident Ambassador) presented her credentials to the President of the Republic of Mauritius, Mr Prithvirajsing Roopun, today, at the State House, in Réduit. In a statement after the meeting, the Ambassador said that discussions were fruitful and focused on cultural exchanges, food security, banking, scientific programmes, and global challenges. The Ambassador also underlined the longstanding relations between Russia and Mauritius over the last 56 years, recalling that Russia had supported Mauritius in its fight for independence and decolonisation. She expressed the wish to further deepen the relations for the mutual benefit of both countries.
