Intellectual Property: Promoting e-filing system in Mauritius
With a view of sensitising users to digital
intellectual property services, the African
Regional Intellectual Property Organization (ARIPO) will field a mission
to Mauritius from 21 to 23 April 2026 as part of its ongoing initiative to
promote the use of its e-filing system. ARIPO e-filing system was launched in
2015.
The mission aims to enhance the uptake of the e-filing platform, which enables users to submit applications for intellectual property titles online, make electronic payments, and track the progress of their applications in real time. The initiative will to improve efficiency, accessibility, and transparency in the management of intellectual property services.
As part of the programme, an e-filing service sensitisation workshop will be organised targeting intellectual property agents, attorneys, and other potential users of the ARIPO system. The workshop will provide participants with practical guidance on navigating the platform and maximising its benefits.
In addition, a capacity-building session under the Member States module will be held at the Intellectual Property Office for the benefit of its technical staff. This session will focus on strengthening technical competencies and enhancing the effective administration of the e-filing system at the national level.
