The KOREK! Super App, designed to provide citizens with secure, seamless and centralised access to Government services, was launched this afternoon in Ebène by the Minister of Land Transport, Mr Osman Mahomed, and the Minister of Information Technology, Communication and Innovation, Dr Avinash Ramtohul.

This event represents a key milestone in Government’s digital transformation journey, with the Digital Penalty Point System being introduced as the first service to go live on the KOREK! Super App. The App places user convenience and transparency at the heart of public service delivery.

The Super App, designed in line with the Government Programme 2025-2029 and the Digital Blueprint for Mauritius 2025-2029, is set to become the one-stop shop for Government’s digital services. It will encompass additional documents and e-services such as: E-Health; GIS; Wallet; Online Payment of Fines; Motor Vehicle License (declaration) Online; and Digital Interactive Virtual Assistant, amongst others.

The Commissioner of Police, Mr Rampersad Sooroojebally, and other eminent personalities were present at the launching ceremony.

During his presentation, Minister Mahomed stated that a total of 33 road traffic offences will be sanctioned under the Penalty Point System (PPS), which will be in force as from 31 January 2026 with the aim of improving road safety. The operationalisation time has been reduced from 10 months to one month with the digitalisation of the PPS, he stated.

Mr Mahomed provided details regarding various aspects of the PPS and underlined some of the measures taken by relevant Authorities to curb the number of road accidents in the future. The use of the Safe City cameras will also be extended to improve traffic operations and detect road traffic offences, he added.

Full details regarding the PPS are available in the Road Traffic (Amendment) Act 2025, he recalled.

For his part, Minister Ramtohul indicated that with the Digital PPS being introduced as the first service, the KOREK! Super App is enabling measures to create a safer environment for all on roads. He moreover dwelt on several features of the Digital PPS on the KOREK! Super App.
