AfCRA promotes Private Sector Investment in African Credit Markets

Promoting private sector investment in the African Credit Rating Agency (AfCRA) was the focus of an event held, yesterday afternoon, at the InterContinental Resort in Balaclava, as part of the Agency’s launch programme. It provided an opportunity to present AfCRA’s business model and investment proposition to potential investors.

The event was attended by the Minister of Financial Services and Economic Planning, Dr (Mrs) Jyoti Jeetun; the Chief Executive Officer of the African Peer Review Mechanism, Ambassador Marie-Antoinette Rose-Quatre; and other dignitaries.

The programme comprised the Africa Leadership Moment, which examined AfCRA’s mandate in relation to regional and global priorities, followed by a presentation on the Agency and discussions with institutional investors and its Board. AfCRA seeks to enhance the credibility of credit assessments of African economies, strengthen investor confidence and facilitate access to capital, thereby contributing to the development of more integrated African capital markets.
