Club Le Flamboyant website launched to enhance member engagement
Club Le Flamboyant, which caters for Public Officers aged 55 and above as well as those who have retired from the service, launched its new website yesterday in Port Louis, providing members with easier access to information on its activities and initiatives.
The event was attended by the Minister of Public Service and Administrative Reforms, Mr Lutchmanah Pentiah, and the President of Club, Mr Virjanan Mulloo.
Established in 2002, the Club was created as part of the Ministry’s efforts to modernise and promote a caring Public Service. It also provides members and their families with opportunities to participate in recreational, social, cultural and leisure activities.
The Club encourages members to share their knowledge and experience for the benefit of the community and participate in activities organised by institutions such as the Senior Citizens Council and the Mauritius Council of Social Service.
In his address, Minister Pentiah underscored the importance of Club Le Flamboyant in recognising the contribution of retired Public Officers and upholding their dignity. He reaffirmed the Ministry’s continued support to the Club and announced that accommodation and refreshments would be provided for its meetings, ensuring that members have appropriate facilities for their activities.
Looking ahead, Minister Pentiah stated that the Ministry would further develop the Club and provide facilities tailored to the needs of its members. In this context, he announced that a yoga instructor would be made available to conduct exercises adapted to older persons. He stressed that these initiatives form part of efforts to valorise the contribution of older persons in society and ensure that their knowledge, experience and years of service continue to be recognised and appreciated.
