Ministry of Tertiary Education designated as National Focal Point for UN Climate Technology Network

The Ministry of Tertiary Education, Science and Research will serve as Mauritius’ National Designated Entity (focal point) for the Climate Technology Centre and Network, under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change.

In this capacity, the Ministry will focus on the science, research and technology aspects of climate technology initiatives and ensure their alignment with Mauritius’ Third Nationally Determined Contribution, National Adaptation Plan, National Mitigation Strategy and Action Plan, and Technology Needs Assessment, among other national priorities.

A stakeholder consultation process will also be established to collect project proposals from diverse stakeholders, including line Ministries, the private sector, academia and civil society.
