Mauritius and Tanzania explore new avenues for cooperation in the Blue Economy and agricultural sectors
The newly designated High Commissioner of the United Republic of Tanzania to the Republic of Mauritius, Mrs Suzan Salome Kaganda, paid a courtesy call on the Minister of Agro-Industry, Food Security, Blue Economy and Fisheries, Dr Arvin Boolell, yesterday, at his office in Port Louis.
Discussions focused on ways to further strengthen bilateral cooperation in areas of mutual interest, particularly the blue economy and agriculture.
Minister Boolell highlighted Mauritius' commitment to promoting the sustainable development of its marine and agricultural sectors. He expressed interest in drawing on Tanzania's experience and expertise in ocean governance, marine resource management and agricultural development.
The meeting also explored opportunities to enhance collaboration in research, innovation, institutional capacity-building, technical exchanges and maritime connectivity. Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to deepening bilateral relations and promoting sustainable development.
