Public service Day: PSC and DFSC organise Open Day
An Open Day jointly organised by the Public Services Commission (PSC)
and Disciplined Forces Service Commission (DFSC), was held yesterday in
Forest Side.
Aligned with the United Nations (UN) Public Service Day and in line with the UN global framework focused on “Transforming Public Institutions: Advancing Innovation, Participation, and Inclusion,” the event targeted youth and graduates to promote public sector careers, offering a transparent, guided look into the Commissions' recruitment processes.
The initiative is designed to increase awareness of the functions, responsibilities, and critical services provided by the Commissions. By so doing, the Commissions seek to enhance transparency, accountability, and public trust.
A major highlight of the Open Day was the focus on equipping prospective
candidates with the knowledge they need to succeed in their applications. The
event program included the launching of two new guidance videos to help
applicants accurately fill out application forms and prepare for interview
boards.
A presentation and exhibition detailing public service recruitment procedures were also on the agenda. Additionally, visitors were given a guided walk-through of the application journey, tracing an applicant’s path from the moment the application reaches the Commission up to the final interview.
The Commissions are placing a strong emphasis on encouraging young people and
graduates to consider career opportunities in the public sector.
