ERVI Scheme launched to support firms in accessing new export markets
An agreement for the implementation of the ‘En Route Vers l’International’ (ERVI) Scheme was signed, this morning in Port Louis, between the Ministry of Industry, SME and Cooperatives (Industry Division) and the Association of Mauritian Manufacturers (AMM). The signatories were the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mr Bhaye Mohamud Dilzad Kurreeemun, and the Deputy Chief Officer of AMM, Mr Samuel Maujean.
The ERVI Scheme, announced under Budget 2025–2026, is designed to support Mauritian enterprises in expanding their international footprint by accessing high-potential export markets. It aims to equip businesses with the necessary tools, expertise and strategic guidance to strengthen their export readiness, identify new opportunities and improve their competitiveness abroad.
The initiative comes at a time when global trade is characterised by shifting tariff regimes, geopolitical uncertainty, supply chain disruptions and increased market volatility. In this context, the Scheme seeks to reduce over-reliance on limited markets and strengthen the resilience of local enterprises through export diversification and improved adaptability to external shocks.
Covering an 18-month period, the scheme targets enterprises with an annual turnover of at least Rs 100 million. It will unfold in two phases, beginning with a six-month diagnostic and export strategy development stage, followed by a 12-month implementation phase involving execution of action plans, supported by group training and individual coaching. The Industry Division will oversee the programme in collaboration with AMM, which will act as the implementing agency.
The Scheme is structured on a cost-sharing basis, with beneficiary enterprises contributing 44% of costs, AMM contributing 28%, and Government financing the remaining 28%, amounting to approximately Rs 12 million out of a total project cost of around Rs 43 million.
The initiative reflects strong public-private collaboration and is expected to enhance the international competitiveness of Mauritian manufacturers, promote value addition, and support sustainable export-led growth.
