DELF Scolaire 2025: Students awarded scholarships and certificates for brilliant performances

A cohort of 41 students from Grades 12 and 13 were awarded diploma certificates after successfully completing the Diplôme d’Études en Langue Française (DELF) Scolaire 2025 examinations at a ceremony held, today, in presence of the Minister of Information Technology, Communication and Innovation, Dr Avinash Ramtohul, at the Rajiv Gandhi Science Centre in Bell Village.

A total of 1,000 candidates including 103 candidates from Rodrigues sat for the DELF examinations 2025. Among them, Miss Choong Siat Moy Kimberly of the Queen Elizabeth College and Mr Jaumeer Ryan Ng of the Royal College of Port-Louis stood out for their exceptional performances.

The Loreto College of Quatre Bornes and Droopnath Ramphul State College bagged the Record de Participation and Meilleure taux de Progression de Participation and 2nd Meilleure taux de Progression de Participation awards respectively.

In his address Minister Ramtohul reiterated Government’s commitment to investing in education as a strategic priority, ensuring equitable access to all citizens. He expressed confidence in the competence and potential of Mauritius’ human capital adding that the strength of the human capital in Mauritius is the ability to speak multiple languages.

He applauded the students, their parents and educators for their hard work and perseverance while emphasising the importance of making language learning accessible to all. He also urged young people to embrace multilingualism and foster a culture of reading.

Minister Ramtohul further highlighted the transformative role of Artificial Intelligence as a key driver of economic growth and innovation, in line with the objectives outlined in the Digital Transformation Blueprint 2025–2029. Positioning Mauritius as a forward-looking digital economy and serving as gateway to the African continent is essential for the development of the country, he added.
