Food safety - Initiatives to Promote Breadfruit
25 April – A series of activities to promote the production and consumption of breadfruit in Mauritius is launched by the Agricultural Research and Extension Unit at the Wooton Crop Research Station.
Environment - Management of Oil Spills at Sea
25 April - A three-day workshop on the management of oil spills at sea opens in Port Louis. It focuses on strategies for the protection of environment in Mauritius and the management of any disaster related to an accidental spill of petroleum products at sea.

Petroleum - Press Conference
24 April- The Minister of Industry, Commerce and Consumer Protection reassures the population that the temporary cessation of operations of the Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Limited, an Indian Oil company, will have no impact on the supply of petroleum products in Mauritius.
Breadfruit - First Model Farm
24 April – The first model farm for the cultivation of breadfruit is launched in Pamplemousses. The aim is to strengthen Mauritius’ food security by reducing its dependency on imports and producing what is consumed locally.
Health – Signature of Agreement with UNFPA
24 April - An agreement is signed between the Ministry of Health and Quality of Life and the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) for the financing of the Country Programme Action Plan 2012-2015. The programme has been prepared and will be implemented by different stakeholders involved in the provision of sexual and reproductive health services.
Amendments to Labour legislation – Press Conference
